A perfect photo op in the beautiful Rose Garden at Point Defiance Park features a garden of miniature roses, arbors of climbing roses, a wishing well, and gazebos.
The garden is stroller friendly. Roll through more than one acre of rose gardens (did you know the oldest was planted in 1895!?)
Best time to go: June through September to see more than 1,500 bushes creating a rainbow of colors.
Other bonuses: Free parking! Lots of wildlife– hummingbirds!
Note to self
The rose arch tunnel is a great place to take pictures. Perfect family photo op.
This place is free to enter.
Dogs are welcome!
There’s also a wishing well tucked away beneath a gazebo.
Point Defiance Park is connected to Point Rustonby a footbridge. Cross the footbridge and enjoy other family friendly activities on the waterfront (~1 mile from the Rose Garden).
Or ride down the slides at Stairs and Slides which is about a 10 min walk from the Rose Garden (0.25 miles).
