Imagine winding down a mountain, the wind in your hair, surrounded by panoramic views of pristine forests and majestic peaks. That’s what awaits you at Leavenworth Adventure Park. The Alpine Coaster is the highlight, offering a unique blend of excitement and scenic beauty. Safe for kids yet thrilling enough for adventure seekers, it’s an experience that brings smiles and laughter to every member of the family.
How long is the Alpine Coaster in Leavenworth?
The Leavenworth Alpine Coaster is an impressive 2,700 feet long, with a vertical drop of 234 feet and sections that soar up to 35 feet off the ground. The ride features three thrilling 360-degree spiral helix circles, adding to the excitement.
Depending on your speed, the coaster ride takes about 3 minutes. However, keep in mind that wait times can vary based on the crowd. When we visited on a busy weekend, we waited about 30 minutes between rides.
This alpine coaster takes you on a twisting and turning journey through the forest and cliffs, powered by gravity, providing a rush of adrenaline while surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. It’s suitable for children as young as three years old (who are at least 38 inches tall), making it a fantastic introduction to the world of amusement park rides. The combination of thrilling speed and serene vistas creates a memorable adventure for everyone.
What is an Alpine Coaster?
The Alpine Coaster is a thrilling attraction where riders are securely attached to a track with rails. You’ll have full control over your own speed, using hand levers to adjust as you wish. The Super Lou’s Tumwater Twister Alpine Coaster offers a customizable experience: use the brakes to slow down and enjoy the breathtaking views of Tumwater Canyon, Icicle Ridge, the Wenatchee River rapids, and the town of Leavenworth, or let loose and cruise at full speed, reaching up to 27 mph for maximum adrenaline excitement.
All sleds are engineered in Germany and come equipped with numerous safety features, including tamper-proof lockable safety belts. The Alpine Coaster operates similarly to a traditional ski mountain rope tow, using a cable to pull you up the side of Tumwater Canyon over 230 feet before gravity takes over for the exhilarating descent. With a quiet ride and stunning views, this is one attraction you won’t want to miss!
Can Kids Ride the Alpine Coaster?
Yes! Leavenworth Adventure Park has two amazing sled options for kids and adults to enjoy the Alpine Coaster! The good news is that even toddlers can hop on and have a great time. You can choose between the single rider option or the double rider option. To ride the sled alone, the rider must be at least 54 inches tall, while toddlers 3 years and older who are at least 38 inches tall can ride with an adult. Keep in mind that the adult will act as the driver from the rear seat of the sled, and should keep both hands on the brake lever at all times.
